Sometimes you just need a break from the game for whatever reason. To officially go on a hiatus, just fill out the form here. If your hiatus is two weeks or more, you are exempt from activity check for that month.

Typically your character will have lost access to the network for that long. You can just decide what your character's been up to during their absence.
