Rules

1. Treat each other well.
The standard "don't be a jerk" rule. Respect each other. Remember other players're their own persons with their own things going on. Part of that respect means listening to them when they say they don't want to do a certain thing or ask you to avoid a certain subject.

2. Communicate.
Communication is especially important for a cracky game like this where many things can happen and people can app all kinds of characters. Ask for clarification when needed, be clear when a certain behavior bothers you, try to talk it out in general. If that fails, talk to a mod.

3. Talk to people before you do something to their characters.
If someone doesn't want your cosmic reality warper turning their character into a wombat or whatever, accept that. Part of roleplaying is doing what's fun for both yourself and others. Basically don't decide for them what their character does or what happens to said character. Permissions posts are also there to help with this.

4. Talk with your potential canonmates especially if you're apping something weird.
Since this is a fairly permissive game, people can app a wide variety of characters, including AUs and CRAUs, duplicates of characters already in the game, or a future OC lovechild of a canonical couple. Stuff like that. So talk with the players of the cast already in the game and work out something that works for all of you. If you cannot work something out, having the characters not interact with each other is an option.

5. Be mindful of the IC and OOC divide.
This means being aware that the way another character reacts to or feels about your character is not the same as the way the player feels about you or your character. It also means remembering that your character doesn't necessarily know what you know.

6. Keep in mind how your character would act.
Characters can change dramatically in games due to series of events they didn't encounter in their canon, so this isn't a "stay exactly true to the canonical personality" rule. It's more about thinking about how your character would react to a certain thing given their experiences and about how your character would change and not change in response to events. This is more of a guideline than a cold hard rule, since people can interpret a character somewhat differently.

7. 5 characters at max.
I will be tentatively going with this limit for now but am open to player feedback on this.

8. Activity rule.
Activity checks will be check-in; just reply to AC saying you'd like to stay in the game. A form will be provided for this.

9. Feel free to ask questions.
What it says on the tin can. If something the mod team has written here or elsewhere is unclear, feel free to ask for clarification.
